WHAT IS A DEVELOPMENT CIRCLE

* What is a development circle?
* What is it for?
* How many people join a circle?
* How do you find one?
* Where is the best place to start looking?
* What is the difference between a closed circle and an open circle?

A development circle is attended by a people who want to learn about spirit communication. To develop any of the spiritual gifts they might have.

Sitting in a development circle starts by learning about meditation, which is an important part of development, stilling the mind as much as possible, practicing whenever you can. There are many ways to do this, and finding the one that suits you best will mean trying out different ways to meditate. Some circle leaders like to use the breath method, focusing on the breath going in and out, (in through the nose and out through the mouth). Another way is to focus on a candle, concentrating upon the flame. ("If your mind should wonder to other things within your life when you are meditating, just bring your mind back to whatever meditation you are doing, no matter how many times you have to do this it does not matter,")

Another is by visualisation. The circle leader will lead you through this; it can consist of any kind of vision, such the ones listed on the web site page Meditations. Also there are many CDs and tapes that can also help in meditation.

The number of people who sit in a development circle can vary from Five to Eleven and in some cases even more, it all depends on the leader. (I prefer to have no more than Seven in my development circles) An open circle is one where anyone can join and attend when they chose to. A closed circle on the other hand is not open to anyone; once the circle has been formed you would only be able to join by invitation.

It is always best to have a set time and place, which is acceptable to all the members, to have regular attendance, helps to build the energy for the circle.

You would learn all about the energy centres, what they are and where the are situated in the body. These are called charkas, you would also learn about the colours the charkas vibrate to. The aura is something else you would learn about, which is all around the body. Once you have managed to learn all of this you will then go on to learn how to sense feel and hear your spirit guides.

The best place to find a development circle is at Spiritualist centres and churches
